digitaLENS for better vision

pasted-image_1_new_small

The world is undergoing a process of rapid change and our vision needs are changing accordingly. However, our eyes do not evolve so quickly. With the new digitaLENS Progressive Lenses portfolio, we actively respond to the different trends and arising user needs – in order to provide better vision.

The challenges

computer-icon_low

Too many digital devices and viewing distances

Digital devices require a closer reading distance than books or any other print media

Fast and dynamic eye movements - from near to far and back, all day long - need to be considered

frame-icon

Too many frame shapes and sizes

Rapid changes occur in frame fashion - with new shaoes and sizes

Frame curvature (or the Base Curve ) affects the optical quality and visual habit

face-icon

Too many face fittings

The anatomy of the face determines the vision experience through a progressive lens

A modern, high-tech progressive lens should be adapted to the physiological facial parameters to ensure that the wear's full vision potential can be used

Our solution

Engineered as a high end all-purpose progressive lens

Ideal solution for users with demanding requirements for large visual fields at any distance. These patients are characterized by asking for a comfortable lens while at the same time wanting excellent vision of objects located at any distance.

graphic2

Personalization for easy adaptation and visual comfort

Each lens is individually produced taking into consideration the unique parameters of the face and frame combination. Personalization is especially important for sport frames to reduce the aberrations induced by the tilt position and curvature of the lens.

graphic3

Personalization parameters

For 100% personalization it is essential to include all personalization parameters unique of each wearer to the prescription data. For jobs without personalization parameters data the lens will be personalized by default values.

Great resolution due to Digital Ray-Path®
technology

Digital Ray-Path® is an innovative calculation technique that uses a design engine to compensate the lens with a simulation of the binocular eye-lens system. Every unique lens is individually calculated guaranteeing an adapted solution for any prescription and base curve.

WRAP-AROUND FRAME COMPENSATION

graphic6

Progressive lens can be specially produced for a wrap-around frame. Using Digital Ray-Path® technology the optician has the opportunity to measure the wrap angle of the frame and include this information when ordering the personalized progressive lens.  Digital Ray-Path® compensates for high rotation and lens tilt. This advanced technology generates progressive lenses that take into account a high wrap angle and provide the wearer with a high definition field of vision. No matter the gaze direction or curvature of the frame, the final quality of vision is always optimized to offer the highest optical performance.

LENTICULAR

graphic7

High prescriptions or lenses for sport frames have an important disadvantage: both are usually too thick.
Lenticular lens eliminates this problem for both
negative and positive lenses. This process generates thinner lenses, offering the chance of making lenses that were impossible before due to their thickness. This notably improves the edge thickness for a negative lens and the central thickness for positive one. If thickness becomes a problem with a particular lens, order it with lenticular. Now there is an alternative, even for thick lenses.

PERSONALIZATION

Personalization can make a big difference in ophthalmic lenses. When a lens is optimized for a single wearer, the best possible optics are achieved. Each wearer will experience the best quality of vision and superior comfort.

When possible, the ECP should take measurements for all personalization parameters and send them with the lens order for a full compensation. These parameters will be used by Digital Ray-Path® to refine the optimization of the lens.

As a result, Digital Ray-Path® creates a lens that provides better vision through every point of the lens. The wearer will
perceive wider, more comfortable visual fields in the distance, intermediate and near vision zones.

Prescription & Addition

Digital Ray-Path®
calculates the power that the user will truly perceive once the lenses are fitted on the frame.

graphicE

Pantoscopic Angle

This is the angle in the vertical plane between the optical axis of a spectacle lens and the visual axis of the eye in primary position.

graphicB

Nasopupilar Distance

Is defined as the distance from the axis of symmetry of the face to the center of the pupil.

graphicF

Wrap Angle

Frame curvature

graphicC

Pupilar Heights

Is the vertical distance between the pupil center and the deepest part of the lens shape.

graphicG

Back Vertex Distance

Distance between the cornea and the back surface of the lens.

graphicD

Frame Dimensions

Frame dimensions are used to calculate the final diameter, thickness of the lens and improve the efficiency of the optimization.

graphicH

Near Working Distance

This is the distance from the lens to the typical reading position for the wearer.

When some of the personalization parameters are not available, the final lens will be personalized using standard values for those parameters that are missing.
